The group exhibition Persistence, organised by Bhumi Gallery, is currently underway at Bhumi Gallery, Centrepoint, Uttara. Bringing together ten distinguished and talented contemporary Bangladeshi artists, the exhibition celebrates the continuity of artistic practice, the resilience of creativity, and meaningful dialogue between generations of artists. A total of 66 artworks, created in canvas, mixed media, and watercolour, are on display.
The participating artists are Tarun Ghosh, Farida Zaman, Mohammad Yunus, Jamal Ahmed, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Rokeya Sultana, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Mohammad Iqbal, Shahid Kazi, and Abdullah Al Bashir. By presenting the works of eight established artists alongside two emerging talents, the exhibition creates a significant meeting point between experience and fresh artistic perspectives.
The central theme of Persistence is the belief that art remains humanity’s most reliable common ground. At a time marked by growing uncertainty, the erosion of human values, and increasing social and ethical challenges, the exhibition underscores the importance of sustaining creative practice. Here, art is presented not merely as an aesthetic expression, but as a powerful force that nurtures empathy, critical thinking, and cultural continuity.
The exhibited works reflect the artists’ distinctive perspectives, personal experiences, and diverse visual languages. Themes of memory, nature, abstraction, identity, the human condition, and the passage of time emerge through a wide range of artistic expressions. Collectively, the exhibition stands as a compelling testament to the richness, diversity, and continuing evolution of contemporary Bangladeshi art.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 25 July 2026, welcoming the public daily from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. For art lovers, Persistence is more than a group exhibition; it offers a meaningful opportunity to engage in a profound dialogue with people, time, and society through the language of art.
