With the aim of encouraging children’s creativity, imagination and engagement with art, Kashful Art School is organising its fifth children’s art exhibition, titled “Amra Sobai Raja” (“We Are All Kings”). The exhibition will showcase 128 artworks created by 82 children and young students of the school.
The exhibition will open on Friday, 18 September 2026, at Zainul Gallery-1, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. The opening ceremony will be held at 5:00 PM on the same day at the Osman Jamal Auditorium, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
The opening ceremony will be attended by eminent artist and curator Wakilur Rahman, artist and art critic Mostafa Zaman, painter and researcher Dr Kazi Mozammel Hossain, and George D’Costa, Head Teacher of William Carey International School, as distinguished guests.
According to Nipa Gomes, Director of Kashful Art School, one of the school’s key objectives is to nurture children’s natural creativity and imagination while developing their appreciation and love for art. The school places particular emphasis on creating a joyful and spontaneous environment where children can explore art freely, rather than focusing solely on competition.
Kashful Art School began its journey on 1 June 2012 with only 12 students. Today, around 100 students regularly participate in its art programmes. Considering the ages, interests and abilities of its students, the school provides basic art education through various mediums, including sketching, oil pastel, watercolour, oil colour and collage. It also regularly organises competitions and exhibitions to encourage students’ creative development.

The school’s adviser said, “I have been associated with Kashful Art School as an adviser for many years, and I intend to remain connected in the years ahead. I enjoy seeing the artworks created by the young students of Kashful. I also appreciate the school’s teaching approach, as well as the new initiatives and enthusiasm of its director, Nipa Gomes. I am delighted to learn about the school’s fifth children’s art exhibition, ‘Amra Sobai Raja’. I wish the exhibition every success and hope Kashful Art School has a bright and successful future.”
The central attraction of this year’s exhibition is the opportunity for visitors to experience the children’s thoughts, imagination, emotions and individual perspectives on the world around them through their artworks. Their simple yet diverse ways of seeing and interpreting the world are expected to offer visitors a distinctive artistic experience.
“Amra Sobai Raja” is more than an exhibition of children’s paintings. It celebrates their imaginative worlds, self-expression and the early stages of their artistic journey.
